The Rap Up

There’s a lot of good music coming out of Thailand these days, and rap is leading the way. Everything from sultry R&B, bubbly club pop, underground rap, reggae, and more. It’s been a good month with a variety of styles to choose from, so for our latest installment of our hopefully regular Rap Up feature, we collected a bunch of tunes to celebrate them and point you in the right direction in case you’re dealing with FOMO about what’s poppin right now. Take a listen!

Bangkok’s Trippytung has been veering towards emo rock lately but surprises with this hard baile funk track.

Sure, Sexski, and 2k team up for a smooth R&B cut that’s sure to get the dance floor full of slow dances produced by Bax!.

Some soulful Jersey club underground pop by the lowkey saksxn keeps the vibe right.

Just in time for Songkran, Jazzspkk brings this housey blend of sam cha and pop that will easily keep the water party lit until sunrise.

Man Jersey club is everywhere this year, and Thailand is not sleeping. This time YUPP’s Galchanie teams up with the buzzy Percy of Dha Vision for a light T-pop jam.

Proper rage music can be a difficult thing to find, but newcomer ¥ungtod does not disappoint with this debut track.

When Gena Desouza and Jarvis collaborated on the viral T-pop meet cute “missed calls,” it was probably unexpected by everyone that they’d follow up with a Jersey remix—but we’re glad they did.

It’s never a mistake to slide some rootical flavor into the mix and luckily Srirajah Rockers are consistently dropping the reggae chunes.

We purposely try to keep it diverse around here and switch up the sounds we feature, but in case you’re feening for some straight up rap music, Hun$ick has got you with his new cut featuring 1LIFE.

Did you think we were actually gonna leave out our homie Thaiboy Digital? He switches it up here with some throwback rave tunes courtesy of Varg²™.

As if Mega Perk’s giant “เช้า 5 เย็น 5” wasn’t big enough already, the mysterious master of bootlegs POND₴ flips it, managing to bulk it up even more than the original. If you had heard his Jersey flip of the OG Joey Boy – “Slow Motion,” then you already knew what to expect.

This one isn’t actually Thai, it’s Japanese. But you gotta respect the effort. The Samurai Squad really want to come visit us out here, so go let them know if you like their music.

It’s been a minute since we dropped a Rap Up, so this one is running pretty long. To catch up a bit, below is some extra fire from last month as well just for a treat. Enjoy!
